Jun 3, 2022 · June 2023 – The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed Zamula on May 2, 2023, to a one-year, one-way contract extension. He will no longer be exempt from clearing waivers if he doesn’t make the 2023-24 NHL roster, which may be easier said than done after a late-season shoulder injury resulted in surgery to end his 2022-23 season.

Zamula could be selected anytime between the fourth and sixth rounds of the draft. His offensive potential likely nudges him towards the earlier side of that range, but the developed nature of his game probably ensures that he gets selected at some point (even if he slips to the late rounds).

Zamula, one of the Flyers' top defensemen in their system , is also 6-foot-4, a lefty shot and slick skater that covers ground. In 37 games for MODO's junior club during 2019-20, Wallinder scored 24 points (five goals, 19 assists).
Scouting Report. The lanky Russian defenseman has excellent on-ice vision that should only get better as he approaches his prime. He is a smooth skater who is confident with the puck; he put up good offensive numbers in junior hockey.
Jan 29, 2020 · In 2017-18, Zamula scored 18 points over 69 games between the Regina Pats and Hitmen. In 2018-19, after the Flyers signed Zamula thanks to the diligence of amateur scout Mark Greig, the lanky blueliner recorded 56 points (10 goals, 46 assists) through 61 games for Calgary.
