Mar 20, 2024 · This will be a very popular sub-$500 kit, that’s for sure. This can be a good budget kit option for beginners and kids. The drum module has some nice kit editing features and the BFD drum sounds are a nice change of pace for Alesis. The pads play nicely even though they are pretty basic and have some hot spot issues.

The funk drum kit pre-set is my personal favourite and it has a lot of attack and presence. The size of the drum set is compact and it takes up a small footprint.

You will be hard pressed to find another kit in this price range that has a great combination of snare sounds and snare pad feel. This kit can help you retain the feel of playing real drums without spending too much money.
Feb 23, 2021 · The tapping of the kit is pretty quiet. The volume on headphones or amplifier are certainly loud enough (and can be made quieter using the volume knob on the drum module). The HXW SD61-2 a pretty quiet kick pad (the kick tower can often be the noisiest part of an electronic drum set) and the mesh snare is a bit quieter than the rubber toms.
Feb 14, 2024 · The Verdict. The Simmons Titan 50 electronic drum kit is a pretty nice beginners or budget kit even if it’s lacking in features on the pads. The mesh pads and dual zone snare help give it a good feel during play. The snare pad really stands out as fun to play with it’s rim shots.
