Plot summary. The story begins with Michael Rogers, a twenty-two year old, telling the reader about his time as a chauffeur and how he met the architect Rudolf Santonix. He plans to one day have a house built by Santonix. Mike is poor though, and so can't afford to hire Santonix to build the house he wants.

In chapter one of Endless Night Agatha Christie sets up a wonderfully atmospheric mystery & this has to be my favourite opening to any of her novels. Endless Night tells the story of Mike Rogers, a penniless man, who meets & falls in love with Ellie who has more money than she knows what to do with.
