- Enoch, son of Cain, , after whom Cain named the first city he founded, is not the same as Enoch, son of Jared (Genesis 5:18). The second Enoch in the Book of Jasher was a descendant of the first, and descended from Seth as well as from Cain.

The Curse of Cain was often conflated with the Curse of Ham. According to the Bible, Ham discovered his father Noah drunk and naked in his tent, but instead of honoring his father by covering his nakedness, he ran and told his brothers about it. A genealogy tracing the descendants of Cain is given in Genesis 4, while the line from Seth down to Noah appears in Genesis 5. Scholars have noted similarities between these descents: most of the names in each are variants of those in the other, though their order differs, with the names of Enoch and Mahalalel/Mehujael switching places in the two pedigrees.

Enoch was the son of Cain. The story of prophet Enoch (Idris) is mentioned in the Quran (Surah Maryam). He is praised as highly upright, pious, and that God rai Enoch was the son of Cain.
The Book of Giants is an apocryphal Jewish book which expands the Urzeit to Endzeit ('primeval creation' to 'end of time') narrative of the Hebrew Bible and, by its multifaceted elaborations on divine decrees of warning and doom, ties the ancient prophet Enoch (ḥanôk) closer to his generally recognized 'storyline' (as collectively put forth in various Enochic traditions) than does even the story's principal treatise of 1 Enoch.
Samael was first mentioned during the Second Temple Period and immediately after its destruction. He is apparently first mentioned in the Book of Enoch along with other rebellious angels. In Enoch 1 he is one of the Watchers who descended to Earth to copulate with human women,  although he is not their leader, this being Semyaza.
Neumesabove the text in this version reveal that the Heliandmay have been sung. A fragment discovered at Praguein 1881 contains lines 958–1006, and another, in the Vatican Library, discovered by K. Zangemeister in 1894, contains lines 1279–1358. Two additional fragments exist that were discovered most recently.
