The design of Invasion is Underdogs v Champs, and this format allows the underdogs and rookies to SHINE at the beginning of the season, and throughout. They are joined by a fantastic cast of Champs (+ Ashley), and go on to compete in some amazing and fun challenges.

Players will divide into new pairs and race over a mile into the jungle to complete a series of checkpoints. Once pairs have finished they will race back to TJ in order to stop their times. Tasks include solving a puzzle, eating disgusting dishes, and walking along a rope. Results:
Pairs must lace Thai prayer beads onto a wire spool for an undetermined amount of time. Whichever pair has the longest strand laced by the time TJ returns will be able to add a five minute penalty to another player. Results:
Players will divide into new pairs and must follow a series of checkpoints leading to a 10 mile kayak ride. Once a pair has rowed their kayak to the barge, their time will be stopped. Results:
Players will now compete individually and hang on to a bar suspended from a speedboat until they reach a buoy. Upon reaching the buoy players must swim as fast as they can to the finish line where their individual times will be stopped.
