Ethan Stiefel (born February 13, 1973) is an American dancer, choreographer, and director. He was a principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre (ABT) from 1997 until July 2012. He was the artistic director of the Royal New Zealand Ballet from 2011 to 2014.

Ethan Stiefel is a principal dancer and artistic director of the Royal New Zealand Ballet. He was born in 1973 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, USA, and studied ballet at the American Ballet Theater's School of Classical Ballet and the School of American Ballet. He joined the New York City Ballet in 1992 and became a principal dancer in 1995. He also performed with the Zurich Ballet and the American Ballet Theater. He is married to Gillian Murphy, a principal dancer with American Ballet Theater.
