Now, we have organized a society, and we call it "Share Our Wealth Society," a society with the motto "every man a king." Every man a king, so there would be no such thing as a man or woman who did not have the necessities of life, who would not be dependent upon the whims and caprices and ipse dixit of the financial martyrs for a living.
In 1934, the Senator began to build a national organization (the Share Our Wealth Society with “Every Man a King” as its motto) to help him run for the presidency in his own right in 1936. Every Man a King (1933) is an autobiography by Huey Long, who served as the 40th governor of Louisiana and as a member of the United States Senate. Aged 39 at the time, Long would be assassinated two years later. The book explores Long's rise to power.
