    Strawberry Mojito
    Yummly
“My mojito in the Bodeguita del Medio and my daiquiri in the Floridita.” – This is a signed quote hanging in La Floridita, Cuba, a place famous for its notorious past. I have heard that, people visit this place less for drinks and more for having a conversation with the patrons. Needless to say, I’m a Hemingway fan, so I got to like the drink that, he used to like, right? He was not only one of the finest novelists was also, one of the world’s most famous drinkers. Aren’t they all? He used to have a number of rum based cocktail recipes to his fame. The most famous is of course the Mojito. To be honest, my husband makes a killer mojito any day and he gets pretty rave reviews from our friends everytime he makes one. He is pretty meticulous about making it too. He won’t use previously made simple syrup nor will he use the store bought lime juice concentrate. He takes his time to muddle the mint with sugar and lime juice. And, its work, especially, when you are serving mojito to a big group of friends. I would love to visit Cuba with him someday and have a drink at Hemingway’s two favorite hang out places – La Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio and get a taste of his signature cocktail. Until that happens, here is my Strawberry Mojito recipe that I learned from watching him.
