    Femme Fatale was formed in 1987 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. Later on that year, the band moved to Los Angeles and signed a recording contract with MCA Records after a well-received showcase.     Femme Fatales is an anthology television series, inspired by the men's magazine of the same name, produced by and aired on Cinemax from 2011 to 2012.     戦慄かなのが少年院から自宅に戻り、久しぶりに妹の頓知気さきなに会ったときに、そのかわいさに「一緒にアイドルをやるしかない」と、姉妹によるアイドルユニットの構想を思い立つ。 それから2年、経験や人脈を得てユニットが本格的に始動。衣装(頓知気がデザイン)も曲(初ライブで披露した楽曲3曲のうち、2曲は戦慄が作曲)もグッズ(ロゴやグッズのデザインはミスiDで戦慄と同期のろるらり(ミスiD2018グランプリ)が担当)も自分たちでできるということでセルフプロデュースを選択。 2018年10月22日、「Idol Lollapalaooza!!!」(新宿ReNY)で初ライブ。しかし、前日に頓知気が突然辞めると言い出して、戦慄から依頼されたミスiD実行委員長の小林司や同選考委員の吉田豪、大森靖子が説得に当たるという一幕もあった。 戦慄は初ライブの時点でZOCでの活動を既に始めており(2020年7月8日に卒業)、頓知気も2019年から2021年3月まで「青春高校3年C組」(テレビ東京)にレギュラー出演していたことから、femme fataleとしてのライブ出演は多くないが、2020年より2人でYouTubeやネットラジオ、TikTokを始めている。 ファンの名称は「隠し子」。 2020年11月13日、1stミニアルバム「femme fatale」、1stシングル「安眠swimming/恥晒し(feat.ゆゆうた)」が同時リリース。 2020年11月29日、大阪(umeda TRAD)でのライブ公演中に、公式サイト兼ファンクラブサイトの「隠し子倶楽部」のオープンが発表された。 2021年4月2日、2ndシングル「鼓動/ピューピル」をリリース。

    ユニット名の由来は、頓知気の記憶にあったクリムトの絵画のモチーフであるファム・ファタール(運命の女,魔性の女)。それは戦慄にも「あ、これだ」「ウチらのカワイイは femme fataleだ」と思わせた[注 1]。
