Looking for advice on where I could go searching for fossils. Scenic Pennsylvania. I live in south central pa and went to public school between York and Harrisburg. Sometime in the mid 90’s we went on a Feild trip to a place where we could find really cool fossils in rocks and shale.
Some of these ancient ferns grew to tree size in warm, swampy forests that covered much of eastern North America and northern Europe and Asia. When plants from these forests died, they were buried under water and sediments, then pressure and heat built up over millions of years, eventually converting them to coal.
