May 15, 2015 · The Ferrell Center wasn’t always planned for its current location. In 1982, it was announced that a new special events center would be built “adjacent to Russell Gymnasium, on a site bordered by Waco Creek, University Parks Drive, Bagby Street and Speight Avenue” (where the McLane SLC and Baylor Sciences Building are now).
There is some parking by the Simpson Athletic Center which is on University Blvd toward I-35 from the Ferrell Center (past the softball stadium and the outdoor tennis courts. But most overflow parking is at a parking garage at the corner of third street and Daughtrey Ave. shuttle buses will drop you off in front of the Ferrell center.
