Our film, “The Warrior Tradition,” was broadcast on PBS on Veterans Day, November 11, 2019. The Warrior Tradition, a one-hour documentary, is a co-production of WNED-TV, Buffalo/Toronto and Florentine Films/Hott Productions, Inc. It was produced and directed by Lawrence Hott, Edited by Rikk Desgres, and written by Ken Chowder.
About Us. Lawrence Hott and Diane Garey began working together in 1978, as members of the Florentine Films consortium. They formed Florentine Films/Hott Productions in 1981. Since then they have produced two dozen films for national PBS broadcast as well as several productions for web and educational distribution.
Florentine Films. In 1976, Burns, Elaine Mayes, and college classmate Roger Sherman founded a production company called Florentine Films in Walpole, New Hampshire. The company's name was borrowed from Mayes's hometown of Florence, Massachusetts.
