Floyd Westerman was an American Indian activist who appeared in "Dances with Wolves" and performed with Willie Nelson and others. He also worked with Sting to preserve rain forests and spoke out against the Iraq war.
Dec 15, 2007 · The U.S. aboriginal activist, actor and folksinger, who played the Sioux leader Ten Bears in the 1990 Oscar-winning Western epic Dances with Wolves, died of complications from leukemia at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 71. He also worked with Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt and other musicians and was an activist for environmental causes and the rights of Native Americans.
