Feeding Britain is an award-winning charity with a vision of a UK where no one goes hungry. We support a national network of 105 regional and local anti-hunger partnerships comprising more than 700 frontline organisations – ranging from community centres and schools, to local authorities and social enterprises.
We support a nationwide network of food banks and together we provide emergency food and support to people facing hardship, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. Between April 2022 and March 2023, food banks in our network provided almost 3 million food supplies to people in crisis, a 37% increase on the previous year.
Using a food bank. This advice applies to England. See advice for Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales. Food banks are community organisations that can help if you can’t afford the food you need. You’ll usually need to get a referral to a food bank before you can use it.
Our dedicated teams of staff and volunteers are packing and delivering boxes of essential food supplies to those who need it most. Using our local networks in communities across the UK, we are reaching people who can no longer feed themselves or their families and who are cut off from other sources of support.

Aug 24, 2023 · In 2021/22, 2.1 million people in the UK lived in household which had used a food bank in the previous 12 months, a rate of 3%. This includes 6% of children, 3% of working-age adults, and around 0% of pensioners. In 2022/23, the Trussell Trust supplied 2.99 million three-day emergency food parcels.
