Much of filming took place on Oahu's North Shore at Laie Point State Wayside Park, where rocky shores and spectacular views were used as a backdrop for scenes such as when Peter (Jason Segel) and Rachel (Mila Kunis) take a romantic walk along a remote beach.
While the film opened and closed in Los Angeles, the majority of the film took place on the North Shore of Oahu.
