The actual fountain is a magnificent sculpture that was highlighted in the 70's sitcom called "WKRP in Cincinnati". Pigeons are a bit of a problem, but the city continually works on it. When I lived in Cincinnati in the 80's, I loved commuting. The bus would drop off at Fountain Square and I would walk a block to work.
