Franz Liszt (22 October 1811 – 31 July 1886) was a Hungarian composer, virtuoso pianist, conductor and teacher of the Romantic period. With a diverse body of work spanning more than six decades, he is considered to be one of the most prolific and influential composers of his era, and his piano works continue to be widely performed and recorded.

Hungarian Romantic composer Franz Liszt (1811–1886) was especially prolific, composing more than 700 works. A virtuoso pianist himself, much of his output is dedicated to solo works for the instrument and is particularly technically demanding.
Liszt’s own compositions include the “ Annees de pelerinage”, “Album dun voyageur”, and “ Tre sonetti di Petrarca”, among many others. He was also known for transcribing a wide array of music for the piano, this included works of Robert Schumann, and of symphonies of Berlioz and Beethoven. Franz Liszt died on July 31, 1886 in Bayreuth.
