    Statewide registration of births and deaths began in 1911. Delayed registration of births for the years 1939 to the present are also available. The records date back as early as 1718 in St. Helens Parish. However, parishes have no records for 1719–1727 and 1729–1733. After 1734, most of the state's records did not grow until the mid-1900s.
