Redirecting the default search engine to Yahoo is only a symptom of thousands of different strains of malware. Technically, this applies to any search engine, but Yahoo seems to have a system of monetizing those who redirect search queries to them, which incentivizes malware authors to do this.
I did a million things to get the yahoo virus off my chromebook, including ctrl-alt-shft-r and malwarebytes mobile. Nothing worked. Then I went to chrome/settings/reset. Worked like a charm. My searches are now yahoo-free.
So I noticed this happening yesterday, everything I searched kept redirecting to search-fine, then to a random search engine. This is on google chrome. I have uninstalled all apps, run every single antivirus/anti malware under the sun.
