Jul 5, 2023 · Learn how to access hundreds of live TV channels for free from various streaming services, such as Tubi, Pluto TV, Freevee, and more. You can also enjoy free local channels with an antenna or use the Roku Channel app.
- ABC. Home to popular shows such as "American Crime," "Black-ish" and "Modern Family," ABC offers only some shows for free; others do require a sign-in. For example, at this writing, you can watch three of the four most recent episodes of "Black-ish."
- CBS. CBS, which owns CNET, has the best online streaming network in history! Ahem. Actually, the network offers a considerable library of TV, everything from current series like "2 Broke Girls" to soaps like "The Young and the Restless."
- Fox. If giving up cable means giving up "Bob's Burgers," forget it! Fortunately, Fox employs a model similar to that of ABC, though with a little extra confusion thrown in for good measure.
- NBC. NBC's model is also similar to that of ABC, with a mixture of free and sign-in-required offerings -- but a lot more of the former, thankfully. You can watch the latest five episodes of "This is Us," including the most recently aired, along with a couple weeks' worth of "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon."
- Watch Freevee here. The Roku Channel app comes automatically with any Roku TV or device, but it’s also available for download on mobile phones and tablets.
- Watch The Roku Channel here. The Viacom-owned Pluto TV has a decent selection of on-demand movies and shows but where it really shines is in live TV streaming.
- Watch Pluto TV here. Think of Tubi as a free version of Netflix, with an on-demand library of over 20,000 movies and TV shows. Of course, Tubi doesn’t have the newer, high-profile titles that a subscription platform boasts, nor originals.
- Watch Tubi here. Crackle is a pioneer in the free streaming space, launching in 2004 — back when Netflix was still shipping DVDs. Owned by Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, Crackle houses free movies and TV shows and even original programming, which sets it apart from many of the other free streaming services on this list.
