Albrecht married Elisabeth of Gorizia-Tyrol (d. 1313) in 1274. This long and apparently happy marriage resulted in twenty-one children – the highest number of offspring from a Habsburg marriage in the long history of the dynasty. Of this astonishingly large brood of twenty-one children, ten died at an early age.
