An epic piece of science fiction, the movie explores class, technological advancements and dystopia using striking sets and pioneering cinematic techniques.

  3. Metropolis is in my opinion the single greatest film ever made but his silent epics are all absolutely fantastic. Niebelungen is a good (but very long) one. The Plague of Florence wasn’t directed by Lang, he just wrote the screenplay and Wandering Shadow is partially lost (and the weakest Lang film I have seen) so keep that in mind.
