Originally hailed from Bierburg, Hans was an action movie star who moved to Los Angeles for a bigger career. He had also been a part of the Promethiansfor 20 years. Hans had blond hair, green eyes, and a stubble. He donned a brown leather jacket over a white shirt and jeans, and had sunglasses on his jacket. Hans was known to be left-handed.
Hans was found impaled on a puppet pole in the center of town. Angeladid confirm that he died instantly when he was impaled. Analysis also revealed that he was knocked out by a large object. Drops found in the victim's head wound revealed he was knocked with a beer mug, with beer traces still on it. That meant that the killer drank beer.
In his childhood, Hans had tormented albino Klaus Weissmann along with the other children in town, leading Klaus to make an effigy of him in his adulthood. Meanwhile, he had been friends with Johan Schnee, but their friendship slowly deteriorated after Johan's brother, Christophe Schnee, disappeared while they were hunting out after Hans had left him alone to hunt on his own. In the present day, Hans agreed to make an interview with Mayor Nagel where he would "reveal a secret". Nagel saw it as an opportunity to convince Hans to fund an Oktoberfest theme park in the city as he had originally promised but withdrawn. Hans had easily beaten nudist tourist (and his fan) Gunther Fritz in a sausage-eating contest, humiliating the latter. Beer girl Gretl Beutelspracherbecame convinced that she and Hans were lovers, leading him to file a restraining order against her.
The killer turned out to be Johan. Initially denying involvement, Johan admitted he killed Hans because he thought the secret he would out during his interview with Mayor Nagel was that Johan accidentally killed Christophe. In court, Johan said that the Promethians told him that Hans would reveal his secret. Judge Adakusentenced him to 25 years in prison. The team would later find out that the secret Hans was going to expose was that the Promethians were planning to attack and destroy all of Europe, cementing their motive for murder. Meanwhile, they also found out that Johan had not actually killed Christophe; rather, it was Hans who shot the fatal arrow.
His name and a suspect's name (Gretl Beutelspracher) are references to the title characters of the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale "Hansel and Gretel".Auf Wieder-Slain (Case #3 of World Edition)When Shadows Fall (Case #5 of World Edition; mentioned)

Frank was the Lieutenant General in charge of the New HavenCenter. His job entailed inspecting immigrants entering Concordia before they were allowed to pass through. He had short brown hair with sideburns, brown eyes, and a mustache, and donned a dark green uniform, which was adorned with three medals, before he died.
Frank was found on the docks with strange discolorations and blood coming out his mouth. According to the coroner, Richard Wells, the victim was poisoned with arsenic trioxide at least ten hours before his death. He also found traces of brimstone and lard in his stomach, both ingredients used to create a topical ointment used to reduce itching caused by head lice. The substance was ingested around the same time as the arsenic, so that meant it came from the killer, which meant the killer had head lice. Later, Dick came in saying he found traces of alcohol in the victim's blood, and that alcohol was drank at the same time the arsenic was. Maddie suspected it came from the pub, so she and the player investigated it again and found a vial of arsenic, it was later filed as the murder weapon. A substance was collected from the vial and then sent to Viola Pemberton, who said the substance was corn starch mixed with water. She explained it was used to starch white collars and give them a c...
At the scene of the crime, the team encountered Irish priest Father Donovan, who pointed the team in the direction of The Old Ale House, a tavern. It was later revealed that Father Donovan had been involved in an altercation with Frank due to his dictatorial attitude over the immigrants. One of those immigrants was Harriet Patrick, whose pet cow, Daisy, had been confiscated by Frank to be quarantined. At The Old Ale House, the team questioned tavern owner Walter Lombardi, who argued with Frank over the amount of Irish people that he was letting into the city. They also questioned dock worker Seamus O'Neill, who attempted to bribe Frank to allow his mother into the country. The team also interrogated nurse Nellie Mortimer, who was revealed to be Frank's ex-girlfriend.
The killer turned out to be Nellie. Nellie denied the accusations, but eventually admitted guilt. She said that during her affair with Frank, he had given her syphilis. Because of his apathy towards the women he slept with, Nellie put arsenic in his stout to stop him from infecting more women. Judge Takakurathen sentenced her to 13 years in prison.
