George Frideric Handel (February 23, 1685 – April 14, 1759) was a leading composer of Baroque concerti grossi, operas, and oratorios. Born in Germany as Georg Friedrich Händel ( ˈhɛndəl ), he lived most of his adult life in England, and became a subject of the British crown on January 22, 1727.
