The first ever waterborne removal of a submarine sonar dome at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in June 1994 from the Baton Rouge (SSN-689). All pictures appeared in the 10 June 1994 issue of the shipyard's newspaper the "Grapevine". The first of four photos appears below. Divers begin the process of removing the dome cone.
