The 2016–17 season was Granada CF's sixth season in La Liga following their promotion at the end of the 2010–11 season. Granada were relegated from La Liga, finishing 20th, and returned to the Segunda División for the first time since 2011.

El Granada Club de Fútbol, S. A. D. es un club de fútbol español con sede en Granada, fue fundado el 6 de abril de 1931 con el nombre de « Club Recreativo Granada », cambiando su denominación por Granada Club de Fútbol en la temporada 41/42 coincidiendo con su primer ascenso a la Primera División de España, donde se encuentra actualmente.
