By 2010, Granite was recognized in telecom industry trade press as one of the largest competitive local exchange carriers (“CLECs”) in the United States. By 2011, the company served more than one million lines and 6 percent of all non-incumbent business analog lines. In 2013, FastCompany magazine published a feature detailing the company's high growth rate through its atypical focus on “boring” POTS services. In 2014, Granite generated $1 billion in annual revenues.
2015 to Present
In 2015, the company launched a Metaswitch multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) data network and targeted large retail malls, where the company's Granite Grid product enabled retail customers to scale up bandwidth on-demand. The service also served as a conduit to provide wireless backhaul capacity to mobile operators.
