  1. To plot the point in a quadrant, we need to check the sign of these coordinates. The coordinates x and y will represent the distance of the point from the x-axis and y-axis, respectively. For example, we need to plot a point (-3, 4) in the cartesian plane. By the signs of coordinates of the point, we can observe, that the point is in the 2nd ...

  2. 8 years ago. Pretty much, yes.... if you want to be "nit-picky" about it, 3.14 radians = 179.90875 degrees. In general, it's better to use pi instead of a rounded approximation like 3.14 or 22/7 or something like that. By the way, 22/7 radians = 180.07245 degrees. ( 10 votes)

  3. A Cartesian plane is a graph with one x-axis and one y-axis (that’s why it’s sometimes called an X Y graph). These two axes are perpendicular to each other. The origin (O) is in the exact center of the graph. Numbers to the right of the zero on the x-axis are positive; numbers to the left of zero are negative. For the y-axis, numbers below ...

  4. Points and quadrants example. Google Classroom. About. Transcript. Plotting points on a graph involves moving along the x and y axes. Positive x-values move right, negative x-values move left. Positive y-values move up, negative y-values move down. The graph is divided into four quadrants, helping us locate points easily. Created by Sal Khan.

  5. Nov 21, 2023 · Cartesian Graph. Eventually the Cartesian coordinate system began to be used in algebra, analytic geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. The Cartesian coordinate system is now used to define ...

  6. Nov 21, 2023 · For example, -270 degrees would be a clockwise turn of 270 degrees (or 3rd quadrants), and a positive 90 degrees would be a counterclockwise turn of 90 degrees (or 1st quadrant).

  7. Step 1: Observe the blue dot on the coordinate graph. Step 2: It is in the second quadrant. Step 3: The point is 3 units away from the origin along the negative X-axis. Step 4: The point is 2 units away from the origin along the positive Y-axis. Thus, the point on the graph has coordinates (-3, 2).
