The Guaranty set the standards that decade for other near-identical Circle buildings constructed with Renaissance Revival styling, limestone facades, and 9-story height. The Guaranty Building was built by William P. Jungclaus Company as an office building with retail use on the first two floors.

The Guaranty Building, completed in 1923, is located at 20 North Meridian Street in on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The building, designed by Rubush & Hunter, serves as office space with commercial storefronts on the lower levels.
Like its sister the Test Building at the other end ofthe quadrant, the Guaranty follows the classical formulaof base, shaft, and capital and is uniquely designed tofront Monument Circle.
The Guaranty Building, which opened in 1896, is recognized as one of Sullivan’s and is an outstanding example of his innovations. In the 1890s, the steel skeleton skyscraper was a new and uniquely American building type.
