Excellent dramatization of Harriet Tubman's incredible story. The character of Gideon Brodness is fictional and they've tweaked some other details a bit. Acting, dialogue, plot and editing are all very well done. The film is just over 2 hours long and you'll be on the edge of your seat the entire time. Show more.

Yet somehow, the renowned icon, among the most celebrated freedom fighters of American history, has never been given a major movie to her name before; a fact that is all the more frustrating considering Hollywood’s insatiable appetite for biopics that feature important male figures.
