A total of more than 10,000 animals romp about on 11 floors and across an area of approx. 5,000 m². The House of the Sea shows fresh and salt water fish from around the world. Haus des Meeres, which translates to “House of the Sea” in English, is an impressive Aqua Terra Zoo located in Vienna, Austria. It is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, offering a unique and captivating experience that combines the wonders of both land and sea.
Jan 7, 2012 · Austria’s biggest aquarium is a project driven by a 100-kilogram turtle named Puppi. The turtle was rescued from an Asian market and brought to the Haus des Meeres in the 80’s. Puppi now lives with Blacktip- and Whitetip sharks, Bamboo sharks, golden kingfish, morays, giant groupers among other friends in 300.000 liters of water.
And you can even have the opportunity dive with sharks! House of the Sea (Aqua Terra Zoo) also has a gift shop and a café, as well as a playground and a climbing wall. House of the Sea Vienna (Haus des Meeres Wien) is open every day from 9AM to 6PM (to 9PM on Thursdays). Book your tickets via email, SMS or our App.
