Sep 12, 1996 · The new Hayward City Hall design is the culmination of several years of city planning, public working sessions, hearings, and finally architectural design. The city hall is meant to provide a focal point for downtown activities during the work week and on weekends.
The four-story, 98,000-square-foot Hayward City Hall integrates a variety of municipal functions into one convenient, centralized location. Adjoining the Hayward BART Station in the city’s center, City Hall is the focal point of a larger mixed-use downtown master plan.
