May 19, 2022 · About a 10 minute drive North of Hearst Castle is the Piedras Blancas Light Station, which was built in 1875. It’s a neat little tower and lightkeepers cottage that overlooks the rugged coastline. They offer tours that must be reserved online in advance. They aren’t open on Sundays, so we couldn’t visit sadly.
