Montbéliard is mentioned as early as 983 as Mons Beliardae. The County of Montbéliard or Mömpelgard was a feudal county of the Holy Roman Empire from 1033 to 1796. In 1283, it was granted rights under charter by Count Reginald. Its charter guaranteed the county perpetual liberties and franchises which lasted until the French Revolution in 1789.

She married Eberhard IV, Count of Württemberg and governed the city of Montbéliard together with her husband.

Henriette von Mömpelgard (auch Henriette de Montfaucon; * zwischen 1384 und 1391; † 14. Februar 1444 in Mömpelgard) war Gräfin von Württemberg . Henriette war die älteste Tochter Heinrichs II., Graf von Montbéliard, der 1396 ein Jahr vor seinem Vater – dem Grafen Stephan von Mömpelgard – starb, und der Maria Gräfin von Châtillon.
