Henrique da Rocha Lima (24 November 1879 – 12 April 1956) was a Brazilian physician, pathologist and infectologist born in Rio de Janeiro. With his friend, Stanislaus von Prowazek , he described what would later be known as Rickettsia prowazekii , the pathogen of epidemic typhus .

Henrique da Rocha Lima was a Brazilian physician, pathologist and infectologist born in Rio de Janeiro. With his friend, Stanislaus von Prowazek, he described what would later be known as Rickettsia prowazekii, the pathogen of epidemic typhus. Rocha Lima named the organism after Prowazek and American bacteriologist Howard Taylor Ricketts .
The discovery of the etiological agent of the exanthematous type is the masterpiece of Rocha Lima, who also studied rickettsia, Peruvian wart, blastomycosis, Chagas disease, poradenitis and hemoglobinuric fever.
Henrique da Rocha Lima arbeitete von 1906 bis 1909 in München am Lehrstuhl für pathologische Anatomie (heute dem Klinikum der Universität München angeschlossen).
