Henry VI. (1421–71). The third and last English king from the House of Lancaster was Henry VI. He held the throne from 1422 to 1461 and from 1470 to 1471. His inability to govern was one of the causes of the Wars of the Roses between the Houses of Lancaster and York. Henry was born at Windsor Castle on December 6, 1421.
