Right now, to mark the 500th anniversary of Anne Boleyn’s arrival at the royal court, Hever Castle is hosting an exhibition exploring her early life and the culture in which she grew up. The exhibition will run until November 2022. It’s included in your ticket.
A key date would be Christmas Eve, the last fasting day. You weren’t allowed to eat cheese, eggs or meat on Christmas Eve. This brings the period of fasting to a climax.
