June 8, 2023: The S&P 500 advanced 26.41 points, or 0.6%, to end at 4,293.93 Thursday, its highest closing level since Aug. 16, 2022, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The 4,292.44 level marked a 20% rally off the bear-market closing low of 3,577.03 set on Oct. 12, 2022.
