    • Canyon of the Eagles Campground – Burnet, TX. This park is owned by the LCRA, and most of the land is designated as a wildlife habitat. It is located on Lake Buchanan, so visitors have many opportunities for water recreation and primitive camping.

  3. Description. Hermit’s Shack is a bit of a misnomer -- with another whole campground just to the south, chances are you won’t be alone out here. Located in the north corner of the park, these primitive sites are a 3.5-mile hike from the main parking lot.
