Dec 7, 2022 · HISD School Choice application timeline. Houston Independent School District’s School Choice application is now closed. Families will learn the lottery result the week of April 5, 2023. Phase II runs April 5, 2023, through June 15, 2023. During that time, families placed on waitlists will receive offers as seats become available.
During these events, you will be able to meet with the Magnet Coordinator, Laura Martinez, to discuss school choice options, the magnet application process and admissions, the dates and deadlines, information about Energy Institute, and to discuss if our campus is a "best-fit" school for your family as your child prepares to enter high school.
Note: A student applying to any of HISD’s high school Fine Arts Magnet Programs must audition and prepare according to the school’s published criteria. Each school establishes its own audition procedures. Questions regarding these procedures or programs should be directed to the individual school. Magnet High School Magnet Qualification
You need to apply to the HISD magnet application and choose the Carnegie vanguard High school program. Do you accept students at all grade levels? In addition to the 9th grade space available, Carnegie Vanguard High School may have a limited number of spaces available for incoming 10th graders.
