Feb 18, 2019 · We present comprehensive global estimates of typhoid and paratyphoid fever by country, age, year, and sex. Our estimates show the number of typhoid and paratyphoid fever cases declining globally, from 25·9 million in 1990 to 14·3 million in 2017.

Mar 30, 2020 · We identified 48 typhoid fever outbreaks in the published literature occurring from 1989 through 2018 and three additional outbreaks from unpublished reports. In accordance with estimates of typhoid fever burden, 25 – 28 most outbreaks occurred in Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.

Nov 21, 2022 · Spotted fever group rickettsiae (SFGR) are a group of obligate intracellular bacteria belonging to the genus Rickettsia within the family Rickettsiaceae in the order Rickettsiales. SFGR are found worldwide, infecting a wide array of wild and domestic vertebrates mainly through tick bites.
