Hogar Miguel León (HML) is a girls’ orphanage located in downtown Cuenca. It is managed by Catholic nuns. HML is very special to us because it was the orphanage that inspired Rex Head to found OSSO over 20 years ago! HML is home to 25-40 girls, and occasionally a few of their brothers. The ages range from about 6-18 years old.

May 7, 2018 · Location: Near the center of Cuenca. Hogar Miguel León (HML) is an orphanage run by Catholic nuns for about 30-50 girls (and many of their brothers too!). You have to remember that instead of a foster care system, when children are removed from their homes and families, they go into orphanages.
