Holy Family Parish: Who are we? A few years ago, the Diocese of Pittsburgh designated our five former parishes (St. Irenaeus in Oakmont; St. Januarius, St. John the Baptist, and Our Lady of Joy in Plum; and St. Joseph in Verona) to merge. On July 1, 2020, we became one parish - Holy Family Parish.

Holy Family Parish was born on July 1, 2020! The Diocese of Pittsburgh designated the Catholic churches in Oakmont, Plum, and Verona to our Parish. We also acknowledge that a significant portion of Penn Hills is part of our parish, not to mention the surrounding towns.
In the case of Holy Family Parish, the diocese grouped the parishes of Our Lady of Joy, Holiday Park; Saint Irenaeus, Oakmont; Saint Januarius, Plum; Saint John the Baptist, Plum and Saint Joseph, Verona. On July 1, 2020, the five parishes were formally merged to create the new Holy Family Parish.
