May 6, 2007 · Today Homestead Heritage has a membership of about 900 people. Its property has expanded to about 510 acres. When the group first arrived in Waco, it went by the name “Koinonia.” But in 1993 it adopted the name Homestead Heritage because Waco residents were confused by the previous name, Greek for “fellowship” or “communion.”
