Sep 29, 2018 · The effects in The 3rd Eye. While the effects in The 3rd Eye (with the original title Mata Batin) are generally pretty good, there are exceptions. For one, I don’t really understand why some ghosts have eyes that seem to glow in the dark. Or rather, reflect light even when there is none. It certainly didn’t seem scary to me.

The Eye was one of the best and most chilling horror films of recent memory, so The Pang brothers were always going to have a hard time topping their own achievement. While this sequel is immaculately made and well acted, it isn't particularly scary, over a prolonged time anyway, which isn't great for a horror movie.
