Entamoeba histolytica occurs in the following forms, the tro-phozoites,precyst,cyst,metacyst,andmetacystictrophozoite. The trophozoite is about 10–60 μm in size with a clear finely granular cytoplasm and a spherical nucleus that shows aggre-gation of chromatin beads at the nuclear membrane and a centrally located karyosome.
