Sep 9, 2022 · Zal Cleminson: I know we got lumped into that glam-rock ballpark but SAHB was a much darker, moodier band. It was theatrics done very tongue-in-cheek and quite dark at times. The main thing I took up when I put the mime face on, was characterizing a lot of guitar players with exaggerated antics.

His first band Tear Gas morphed into the backing band for Alex Harvey, and when that band split in 1977, he and other members continued on as The Zal Band, before he joined Nazareth in 1979.
