Aug 7, 2023 · In a surge not seen in MLB in a quarter-century, attendance is up 9 percent this season when compared to the same number of games in 2022 -- a total increase of more than 4 million fans and an average of 2,424 per game. Not including '21 and '22, which saw increases due to reduced COVID-19 restrictions, that would be the largest rise since 1998.
