Aug 06, 2020 · Due to a significant and unresolved problem with the State of California’s reporting system for communicable diseases (California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (CalREDIE)), the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department, as well as county public health departments statewide, are experiencing significant underreporting of COVID-19 testing results.

July 21: Orange County now has the second highest number of COVID-19 cases in California, with the count being 29,986. This is just ahead of Riverside County's COVID-19 case count of 29,983. Los Angeles County, which has more COVID-19 cases than any other California county, is also confirmed to have 160,000 cases.

On Wednesday, August 5, the County of Santa Clara Department of Public Health announced 101 new cases for a total of 11,128 with four additional deaths for a total of 196 deaths due to COVID-19 in the county.
