Over 200 Ska albums out in 2023! How many have you heard? What's your favourite so far? Years not over yet, but it's been a solid one for Ska albums! [1] It combined elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues. Ska is characterized by a walking bass line accented with rhythms on the off beat.

Nice to see some early ska and reggae albums, but this description of the Pioneer's Long Shot album makes any head spin: "The lines between ska, rocksteady, and reggae were blurry in the late 1960s, and you can argue about which one most accurately describes The Pioneers' 1969 album Long Shot, but I'd say that ska energy is still there."
